AREN HAS A NEW SERVER AND E-LIST

AREN has gone to a new server with many more features than the old one. This will not affect the look of the website, but it has given us more control, and also a chance to remove our E-list from Yahoo and its many quirks and problems. The Yahoo list will be offline a short time after Samhain and people interested in the new list will need to re-register. Those that have registered on the new list are already covered.

Members of the old list need to go to www.aren.org/elist.html for e-mail instructions on how to register your application. You’ll need to fill out the application before approval can be given. Approval should take no more than a day.

In return for effort of re-registering come the benefits of the new E-list on our own server. It will be far more dependable than Yahoo ever was. It means the end to ads once and for all. It will also eliminate spam.

For AREN, the benefit will be of knowing which people are actively interested, so fewer e-mails need to be sent. Uninterested people will no longer be bothered. On the old Yahoo list we had a hard time telling whether a person was still an active member or not.
